So... About a month ago, I suggested to my girlfriend that maybe we shouldn't celebrate Valentine's Day because it is a total marketing scam and it isn't even a real holiday and also, it only exists because people are just out to get our money. It sounded like a really great idea at the time but after suggesting it, I am now certain it really wasn't a great idea.
For some reason the majority of girls get all giddy about Valentine's Day (even though it isn't a real holiday). I don't really get why girls are so excited about Valentine's Day. Oh wait... maybe because it is a day where they get free shit! What a total scam! Now don't get me wrong. In no way am I going to be boycotting Valentine's Day or anything crazy like that, in fear of getting owned, but I am just pointing out a few observations I have made about this holiday. Yeah it is a total lose-lose situation. I can totally imagine a couple where the dude doesn't do anything special for his girl on Valentine's Day and the girl totally throws a huge fit. And then in the middle of her huge fit the poor guy just merely points out that she had not done anything for him for this day either. But for some reason, that point is totally irrelevant and he gets super owned. Anyways, tough luck dudes. The world is so unfair...
On another note that is totally irrelevant, I really hate coins. Do you know how many quarters I lose a week? Probably a lot. And if you're one of those people who are like "Dude change isn't worth shit." then FUCK YOU! Losing two quarters is like losing fifty cents, and yes I am aware that you can do that math by yourself but losing fifty cents really sucks, especially if you are doing that like every day.
And especially when you have fifty cents in your pocket and then you want to buy something that comes out to be $5.35 and then you take five dollars out of your wallet and then you reach into your pocket to get out your fifty cents that you had and then you realize YOU DON'T HAVE IT ANYMORE. (because you lost it). Now you have to take ANOTHER dollar out of your wallet and receive sixty five cents in return. WOW! You totally could have just spent five dollars and got an extra fifteen cents back but, NO! You had to spend six dollars and get two more quarters, a dime and a nickle that you will eventually lose. HOW STRESSFUL IS THAT?
The answer is very.
Now, you may be thinking "Albert, why is it that you are complaining about loose change when you can easily just use your debit or credit card on your purchases?" Well friend, this is because I saw on the news that it is been proven that people generally spend less when they pay for things with cash instead of card, but what they forgot to do was to factor in was the part where people lose the coins they get in change. Damn you, ABC.
PS. Dear Aunt Celine, if you read this, sorry about the swearing earlier on. I couldn't think of another way to express myself on the topic of losing change.

i have a lot of time
Damn. Right now, I got nothing but time. No more school at UCI, the place I was working at went out of business and I am taking an online class that takes about 30 minutes a week. The only thing that sucks about having so much free time is that nobody else has free time like me. I think just about every day I ask like the same five people if they want to eat or go out to drink at night or whatever and every day they tell the same thing. They have school and work. I am always slightly sad when they tell me they can't hang out but, then again, on the inside I am secretly happy I don't have their responsibilities right now. Mondays and Saturdays are exactly the same to me. Yes ma'am, I am living the life.
Anyways, I remembered my earlier post in January I told you that in three months time I was going to be hella ripped. Well, it has been about a month and I am definitely not on my way to becoming hella ripped. Actually, I think I lost weight AND got fatter. So... I think I am currently on the track to becoming very disappointed. I don't know what it is but I constantly set physical goals for myself and constantly fail. I probably do this at least four times a year.
Well this post probably isn't going to be very long since I am already out of stuff to write about. I currently am doing nothing. It is 6 PM and all I did today was wake up and eat a subway sandwich. Well I also left the house in order to buy the sandwich which required a little bit of extra work.

happy new years!
Ahh... It's that time of the year again. The time for us to make new year's resolutions for ourselves in order to improve as individuals. This year, I'm going to be doing things a little bit differently. I am going to make one new year's resolution and one new year's resolution only. Last year I had about thirty and I'm pretty sure you can all guess how many I stuck with. Yup, zero (or maybe one or two now that I think about it). I had made a long list of new year's resolutions and categorized and sub-categorized them into all different groups. I had long term resolutions, short term resolutions, resolutions I was going to perform daily, goals I wanted to achieve one time and etc. If I can remember correctly I had split my resolutions into five separate sections: health, academics, financial, hygiene and fitness. I was really being an over achiever. I remember I wanted myself do things like stretch daily, read books in Chinese, and save 50 dollars a week. I don't remember doing any of these things even once. Well, I also had more realistic resolutions like read more, cook for myself more and drink less, but these resolutions didn't last long either. While I was in my high achieving spirit, I even got a year's subscription to TIME magazine. I probably read a few articles for the first month or so and then after that I just read the captions to the pictures. Now, I just look at the cover and throw it on my high stack of unread TIME magazines. I am surprised on how they come out with so much new information every week.
Anyways, this year, my only new year's resolution is going to be to eat healthier and run more. Yes, I realize that is actually two resolutions but I made up the eat healthier one just now since it goes with my ultimate goal, which is to lower my BMI. So, hopefully by only having one resolution this year, I will actually stick to it. Actually, I change my mind. I WILL be sticking to this one resolution of mine and with you as my witness, world, I will be hella ripped in three months time. And on top of that, I will still weigh roughly the same and be able to lift as much as I can lift now. So, come March I am going to come back and read this post and either be pretty proud of myself or very disappointed. My guess is that it will be somewhere in the middle.

sunglasses
Damn, I'm not sure why nobody has ever addressed this before, but I think it's a relatively serious problem. What is the deal with girls and their big ass sunglasses? And don't tell me its for the protection from the sun because we all know that it isn't. Sunglasses on girls have gotten so big that it has become hard to recognize people. I'm pretty sure there has been at least eight times in the last couple weeks where I have said hey to a girl, who was wearing sunglasses, thinking that she was someone else. This is probably due to the fact that you all LOOK THE FUCKING SAME! It's like you're all wearing a mask that covers half your face. But seriously, saying hello to strangers that I don't know is not the real problem with these sunglasses...
The real problem with the large sunglasses is that it makes it incredibly hard to discriminate ugly girls from good looking ones. There have been many times where I was under the impression that a girl was super cute only later to be let down after she revealed her whole face. Now, this is not exactly a new problem. I can still remember the first time I discovered this problem like it was yesterday. It was fall quarter of my second year and I had just moved into VDC. I was riding the bus back from school when this slender, pale girl sits down next to me. Excited, I start talking to her about the usual second year talk. You know, "What's your major?" "How do you like VDC?" "What apartment do you live in?" "Taking the bus is blah blah blah" and etc. Anyways, her sunglasses were so big that I became a bit skeptical. So about half way through the ride, I asked her if she could take her sunglasses off. She asked me why and I said "Because I want to look at your face." (I may have been a bit blunt back then). She started acting all shy and declined. Then we started talking again and about five minutes later I asked her for a second time. I am not sure exactly how many times I ended up asking her, probably around three or so, but I am really glad I had. When she finally took them off, I definitely saw something I wasn't expecting. Now, she wasn't exactly ugly or anything, but I was just under the impression that she was going to be super hot. Anyways, she tricked me.
How the rest of this story goes is unimportant, but what IS important is I was fooled and I'm sure millions of guys are getting fooled every day. Ugly girls and hot girls are starting to look exactly the same, because honestly, it has got to be pretty hard to look ugly when people can only see your nose and chin. Oh, and I guess your mouth too. But that is beside the point. Anyways, friends, do not worry, I have come up with a solution to solve this problem. It requires a lot of teamwork in order to work so I'm pretty sure it wont succeed, but it doesn't hurt to try. All you have to do is start assuming all girls who wear sunglasses that cover the majority of their faces are, in fact, ugly. This way eventually the good lookers will begin to notice that they are not getting any attention when wearing their sunglasses, and will stop wearing them. The uggos will also begin to realize this and may or may not stop wearing their sunglasses. But the great part is that it doesn't really matter because either way, we will be judging them correctly.
